Experiencing my first Super Bowl was nothing short of mind-blowing. But beyond the spectacle of the game itself, there were massive learnings for brands and major events alike. Here’s what stood out:

Super Bowl 2025

The Host City Sets the Tone

Landing in New Orleans, I was instantly hit with a wave of excitement. The city was alive with a jazz band in the airport, Mardi Gras performances, and locals handing out fun gifts to arriving fans.

Then, there was Bourbon Street – pure energy. Beads flying from balconies, live music blasting from every bar, and street performers showcasing mind-blowing talent. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Dom Dolla shut down the street for an impromptu DJ set.

It was a powerful reminder of how much a city can elevate a major event when it fully embraces it. The same thinking can apply to our own iconic events, like the Australian Open, AFL Grand Final, and Grand Prix – there’s always an opportunity to further integrate the local culture and create an even more immersive atmosphere.

Brands That Show Up, Stand Out

Super Bowl brands don’t just advertise… They create immersive experiences. Some standouts:

  • VISA took over part of our hotel, where Bradley Cooper (yes, really) was cooking Philly Cheesesteaks for select guests. Inside their VIP space? Hurricane cocktails and a photo op with the Lombardi Trophy. Now that is customer loyalty in action.
  • Toyota brought next-level fan engagement, from touchdown photo ops off the back of utes into foam pits to digital overlays letting fans picture themselves behind the wheel of their dream car.

“The best brand activations go beyond visibility – they create value for consumers. There’s real potential to push this further in the Australian market, ensuring brand experiences around our major events match the scale and impact we see on the global stage.”

Anything Can Be Commercialised

The NFL Fan Festival was a retail machine..

Nike collabs. Hugo Boss Super Bowl jackets retailing at $1,200. Build-a-Bear selling custom Super Bowl teddies. And fans? They could not hand over their money fast enough.

Every touchpoint was monetised, but in a way that felt seamless and premium. The lesson in all of this consumerism? When brands invest in infrastructure and experience, the commercial returns follow.

The Super Bowl Is More Than a Game – It’s a Cultural Phenomenon

The game might be the centrepiece, but the surrounding ecosystem is just as powerful.

Shaq’s Fun House – A DJ set by Shaq, performances by Ludacris and John Summit, plus a full outdoor carnival. Timbaland at the Maxim party – Unreal. Every brand, artist, and venue was leveraging the Super Bowl moment.

Major events that attract hundreds of thousands should be thinking about legacy experiences that travel with them – year after year, city to city.

On-the-Ground Support Is Everything

A great event experience is built on the details:

  • Best restaurants
  • Prime hotel location
  • Premium event access
  • The right parties
  • Reliable transport

And unless you’ve got local expertise, navigating all that is a gamble. Having a trusted on-ground partner? That’s the game-changer between an unforgettable experience and a logistical nightmare.

So, Whats The Play?

The Super Bowl isn’t just a sporting event, it’s a blueprint for how cities, brands, and event strategists can level up experiences.

At Seeker Agency, we live for creating these moments. If you’re looking to create next-level brand experiences that leave lasting impact, let’s talk.
